The Dippy Experience

Meet Dippy at Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU to start your epic dinosaur adventure here in Rochdale. Here you can marvel at Dippy, the superstar dinosaur which has been seen by millions of people in the Natural History Museum in London.

Then head to Touchstones Rochdale, The Esplanade, Rochdale OL16 1AQ to delve deeper into the natural world with a dino-tastic family friendly exhibition. This roarsome exhibition will include a prehistoric swampland, depicting the Rochdale of millions of years ago, and a biodiversity gallery. Visitors can also see the fossil of Rochdale’s famous scorpion, which is 300 million years old - even older than the dinosaurs. You can also learn about sustainability and how we can safeguard our amazing natural world for future generations.

Accompanying Dippy will be downloadable materials to enable a self-guided tour. In addition, there will be hands on activities in our educational spaces to take you back to the time when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and other key moments in our planet’s history.

We estimate you'll spend up to 1 hour at each venue, which includes your walk from Number One Riverside to Touchstones Rochdale.
