Prehistoric garden

About

Suitable for: everyone.
Cost: FREE.
Booking: no.

Step back in time with our prehistoric garden. Discover the plants that outlived the dinosaurs. Why not take your own picture with our very own T-Rex?

The dinosaur garden is located on The Esplanade outside Rochdale Town Hall. It's free to view and open 24/7. We expect it to remain until after Dippy’s departure in June 2020.

The Natural History Museum's famous dinosaur cast, Dippy the Diplodocus, has left the museum for the first time to go a on a tour of the UK, and Rochdale has been selected as one of just 8 venues across the UK which will host him during the tour. He'll take pride of place in the award-winning customer service centre, library and council building, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale OL16 1XU from 10 February 2020 to 28 June 2020.
