About

Fancy a new challenge? Then why not "Try a Trail" and have a go at this 10 mile loop starting from Walsden railway station or extend to a 20 mile ride by starting from Hollingworth Lake near Littleborough. For a map and route Guide, download the pdf from the website link below. From the home page follow the links through 'Planning a Trip' and 'Try a Trail' to 'Littlebrough Lake to Lake by Bike' then click on the pdf symbol.

Criss-crossing the Lancashire/Yorkshire border this is a classic tough but scenic mountain bike route taking you from low lying farms to high up on the moors passing several reservoirs on the way. Many of the tracks are packhorse trails used as trade routes in the days before railways and tarred roads. Now they offer a great traffic free ride through stunning Pennine scenery.

The map uses public bridleways which are also popular with horse riders and walkers so please ride responsibly. Reduce your speed when passing other Trail users and remember to warn them of your approach.
