Rochdale borough boasts 10 Green Flag parks, each one different in style, but similar in being well kept and providing a safe place to relax.

Heywood's Queen's Park won the national 'People's Choice Green Flag Park' award in 2010 and has been restored to its Victorian splendour with a boating lake, riverside walk, sports grounds and a cafe. There are family activities most weekends.

Rochdale Memorial Gardens in the town centre is a tranquil area in the bustle of the town.

Hopwood Park in Heywood.

Milnrow Memorial Park benefits from a leap standard play area which includes a mini cycle track for toddlers, a mini assault course, a bowling green, multi-use games area, skate board park, the Milnrow giant sculpture and a woodland walk.
