Riding

If horse riding is your thing then the countryside around Rochdale, Heywood, Littleborough and Middleton will give you spectacular countryside in which to enjoy your sport.

The main routes in the borough are based around the Pennine Bridleway, England’s first national trail for horse riders. This route from Derbyshire to Northumberland passes close to Hollingworth Lake and Watergrove Reservoir as part of the Mary Towneley Loop 47-mile circuit. Some of our local visitor accommodation can even give your horse a bed for the night.
